BRIDGETON, NJ – Julio Morales-Amilcar, a 24-year-old resident of Elmer Street in Bridgeton, has been charged with manslaughter. The charges were filed following an incident on August 12, when Bridgeton Police Officers responded to a report of an assault victim on Myrtle Street.

Upon arrival, officers found Clememte Vazquez-Pacheco, a 35-year-old resident of Bridgeton, suffering from a brain bleed and in critical condition.

He was transported to Inspira Hospital in Vineland. Morales-Amilcar is alleged to have thrown a large rock that hit Vazquez-Pacheco in the head, causing him to fall to the ground. He is also alleged to have punched and kicked the victim while he was down.

Vazquez-Pacheco was taken off life support on August 30, and succumbed to his injuries. Morales-Amilcar was subsequently charged with manslaughter on Friday, and is currently in jail awaiting pre-trial detention.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information regarding the case may contact Detective T. Garofolo at 856-451-0033, ext. 113.
