HAWTHORNE, NJ – Hawthorne High School’s football team maintained their perfect season by defeating Pompton Lakes 20-14 on Friday, September 15.

Game Summary

The game got off to a slow start with neither team managing to score in the first quarter. Momentum picked up in the second quarter when Pompton Lakes’ Tyler Benway caught a 7-yard pass from Joey Aungst, followed by a successful extra point by Jesus Cruz, bringing the score to 7-0. Hawthorne responded with a 25-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Menne to Matt Lorper and a 27-yard field goal by Dominic Passero, ending the half at 10-7 in favor of Hawthorne.
