Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Westfield Wheaton Mall Robbery Suspects

WHEATON, MD – Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that took place on August 23 at Westfield Wheaton Mall. Surveillance footage of the two suspects has been released as police ask for public assistance in identifying them.

At around 7:20 p.m., officers from the 4th District of the Montgomery County Department of Police responded to a reported armed robbery at the mall’s 11100 block of Veirs Mill Rd. The investigation revealed that after making a purchase, the male victim was confronted outside the mall by two individuals. One suspect physically assaulted the victim while the other brandished a handgun and stole his belongings. The duo then left the scene.

The mall’s surveillance cameras provided descriptions of the suspects. The first is a Hispanic male, approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall with short hair and a medium build. He wore glasses, a long grey sleeve shirt, black Adidas pants, and black shoes. The second suspect is also a Hispanic male, matching the first in height but with a thinner build, dark hair, and a mustache. He was last seen in a white shirt, black pants, and dark shoes.
