SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – Javesh Persaud, a 33-year-old man from Shirley, has been indicted on multiple charges, including sex trafficking and criminal sexual acts.

According to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, Persaud allegedly lured an 18-year-old woman experiencing homelessness to Suffolk County, promising her food and shelter. He then allegedly forced her to engage in sexual acts with others for money.

The victim met Persaud on the website “Omegle” at the end of July. Persaud allegedly began to force the victim to engage in sexual acts the day after she arrived in Suffolk County.

On September 1, the victim contacted the National Human Trafficking hotline, leading to Persaud’s arrest by the Suffolk County Police Department’s Human Trafficking Investigations Unit.

Persaud was arraigned on September 15 and is being held on a $250,000 cash bond, $500,000 bond, or $1 million partially secured bond. His next court date is October 16.
