Police Investigating Deadly Pedestrian Crash

GREENBELT, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that took place Tuesday evening near the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Greenbelt Road.

Officers responded to the scene on September 26, around 7:45 p.m., where they found the pedestrian already deceased. Initial reports suggest that the driver of a sedan was moving northbound on Kenilworth Avenue and struck the pedestrian for unknown reasons. The driver remained at the scene following the incident.

The name of the deceased will be released upon confirmation of identity and notification of the family.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit (CARU) is leading the ongoing investigation. Once complete, the findings will be submitted to the State’s Attorney’s Office for possible criminal charges.
