WASHINGTON, DC – Carson Posey, 24, pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of his ex-girlfriend, Shantal Hill, 28, in a 2020 shooting incident near Tyler House Apartments.
Superior Court Judge Michael O’Keefe scheduled Posey’s sentencing for January 19, 2024.
Court records reveal that on April 15, 2020, at approximately 10:48 p.m., Posey shot Hill nine times in various parts of her body. Hill was able to identify Posey as her attacker to police officers who arrived at the scene.
Hill stated, “I [am] a single mother and I can’t die,” before passing away shortly after midnight on April 16, 2020.
The Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division Homicide Branch led the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney John Interrante is prosecuting the case.
