EPHRATA, PA – Ephrata police officers responded to a reported stabbing incident on Wednesday, at about 8:53 p.m.

The scene was the intersection of West Locust Street and Park Avenue in Ephrata Borough.

The investigation revealed that a dispute over a money debt led to the altercation between Phillip Trimble, 36, of Lancaster, and a 34-year-old victim from Ephrata.

Trimble was subsequently arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Simple Assault.

The victim sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound to his arm and received medical treatment at a local hospital. Trimble, believed to be the primary aggressor in the incident, was taken to Lancaster County Prison for arraignment. He is presumed innocent of the charges until proven guilty.
