Belleville Man Charged for Killing Woman Sunday Morning

BELLEVILLE, NJ – A morning shooting on Meacham Street resulted in the death of Erica Voloshin, 37, and the arrest of Scott Hurring, 43, for murder and weapon charges.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Belleville Police Chief Mark Minichini announced that the incident occurred around 10:25 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1. Police arrived at a residence on the 100 block of Meacham Street to find Voloshin unresponsive from a gunshot wound.

She was pronounced dead at 10:42 a.m.

Scott Hurring, a resident of Belleville, is charged with murder and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is currently in custody.
