POTTSVILLE, PA – A lottery retailer in Schuylkill County has sold a Powerball ticket worth $1 million for the drawing on Saturday, September 30. The ticket successfully matched all five white balls, 19-30-37-44-46, to claim the seven-figure prize.
Pottsville Provision Company, located at 415 North 7th St. in Pottsville, will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The identity of the winner remains unknown until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated.
Lottery winners in Pennsylvania have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. Those who have purchased tickets from a retailer are advised to sign the back of the ticket immediately. For those who won online, the prize money will be automatically credited to their account after validation.
The drawing also saw over 155,900 other PA Lottery Powerball tickets winning various amounts, with more than 32,600 purchased using Power Play and over 13,600 with Double Play. Ticket holders are advised to verify their tickets carefully.
The current jackpot run, which began on July 22, has so far generated $77 million in sales and contributed over $30 million in profit for the benefit of older residents in the state.
As of Monday morning, Powerball tickets in Pennsylvania were being sold at a rate of nearly $3,000 per minute, with more than 1,400 tickets sold each minute.
