Mother Shot While Driving in Southeast DC

WASHINGTON, DC – A mother was shot in the legs while driving on Elvans Road SE, according to police. She was in the car with her children and another adult when the vehicle was struck by gunfire.

Initial reports suggest the woman drove herself to the hospital and was later transferred to a trauma center for specialized care. Police are actively searching for the location where the shooting occurred.

No suspects have been identified, and the police have not released further details. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
