Erie Teen Hospitalized, Another Charged After Shooting

ERIE, PA – Erie Police are investigating a shooting that occurred inside a west Erie residence on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers arrived at the scene at 5:39 p.m., where a 16-year-old had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The victim, who was found in an upstairs bedroom, was taken to the hospital for surgery and is now in stable condition.

Another 16-year-old at the residence has been arrested, charged with possession of a firearm by a minor and tampering with evidence.

With all involved parties accounted for, the Erie Bureau of Police Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate the incident. There is no ongoing search for additional suspects at this time.
