North Jersey Man Found Guilty of Killing Mother After Three Week Trial

UNION COUNTY, NJ – Malika Jones, 26, of Rahway, was found guilty of aggravated manslaughter in the death of her mother, marking the close of a three-week trial.

On Friday, the jury delivered its verdict after extensive deliberation.

The incident unfolded on February 16, 2020, when Rahway Police responded to an East Albert Street residence shortly after 3 p.m.

There, they found 58-year-old Inell Jones deceased. Malika Jones was apprehended at the scene.

She awaits sentencing scheduled for January 26, 2024, by Judge Thomas Isenhour.
