GOSHEN, NY – Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced the arrest of James Harris, 71, from Goshen, on charges of possessing a sexual performance by a child. The arrest was made on Monday, by the Village of Goshen Police Department.

Harris is accused of trading in child [censored]ography, including videos and pictures of children in sexual activities with adults. This activity was identified by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office Digital Forensics Unit using specialized techniques.

A search warrant executed at Harris’s residence led to the seizure of devices containing child [censored]ography.

The arrest resulted from a joint investigation by the Digital Forensics Unit, the Village of Goshen Police Department, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations unit, and their electronic sniffing dog.

The Digital Forensics Unit, formed in July, specializes in retrieving and analyzing digital evidence and has partnered with the New York State Internet Crimes against Children Task Force.
