SPARTA, WI – In a recent Monroe County Circuit Court session, George Solis faced multiple charges for the November 23, 2023, stabbing incident on East Main Street in Sparta. Monroe County District Attorney Kevin Croninger charged Solis with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, mayhem, first-degree reckless injury, aggravated battery, first-degree reckless endangerment, felony bail jumping, and disorderly conduct.

At the time of the arrest, Solis was under two active Monroe County bonds and had outstanding warrants due to his failure to appear in court. Judge Todd Ziegler set a $500,000 cash bond for Solis, accompanied by several special bond conditions.

The victim of the stabbing remains hospitalized but is expected to survive. This incident marks a significant development in Sparta’s efforts to address violent crimes in the community.
