Weekend of Gun Violence in Philadelphia: Multiple Shootings Leave Several Wounded, One Teen Dead

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Multiple shootings occurred last weekend in Philadelphia, resulting in several people wounded and a 17-year-old boy dead.

One notable incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. on the 5300 block of North 5th Street. A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot and later pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Hospital.

Another 17-year-old boy was wounded in the shooting, suffering a gunshot wound to the right cheek. He is reported to be in stable condition at Nazareth Hospital.

Other incidents included a 35-year-old man shot at 34th Street and Fairmount Avenue, a 38-year-old man shot on Elmwood Avenue, and a 35-year-old man injured on North Palethorp Street. All victims were in critical but stable condition.

Philadelphia Police confirm that no arrests have been made, and no weapons have been recovered in these incidents. The city has recorded over 390 homicides this year, a significant figure though slightly lower than the previous year’s count during the same period.
