ARLINGTON, VA – A shooting occurred in Green Valley neighborhood this Friday afternoon, resulting in the injury of a woman. The incident took place around 1:00 p.m. near the intersection of S. Kemper Road and S. Oxford Street.
The Arlington County Police Department reports that the woman, a passenger in a vehicle on S. Oxford Street, was shot by suspects who approached on foot.
The driver then continued to the 4000 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive, where officers provided aid. The victim, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local hospital.
Witnesses describe the suspects as four black males with skinny builds, wearing dark clothes and facial coverings, fleeing in a silver SUV with Virginia tags. The U.S. Park Police helicopter assisted in the search, but no arrests have been made as of the latest update.
The Arlington County Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Unit is leading the investigation. They ask anyone with information to contact them.
