New Chief Investigator Appointed in Orange County District Attorney’s Office

ORANGE COUNTY, NY – District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced on last Friday the appointment of Tommy Watson as the new Chief Criminal Investigator of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, effective February 2, 2024.

Watson will succeed Rudolph Simmons, who is retiring after an extensive career in law enforcement.

Watson’s career includes service as a Senior Criminal Investigator in the Orange County Drug Task Force since 2015, and prior roles in the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office and the New York State Police. His expertise spans various areas, including narcotics enforcement and community policing.

Joining the office alongside Watson are three seasoned investigators: Brian Hammer, Paul Langowsky, and Christopher Fox, each bringing a wealth of experience in areas such as homicide investigation and narcotics enforcement.

Additionally, Brett Weeden is promoted to Deputy Chief Investigator, with Francis Pierri and Thomas Reinle ascending to Senior Criminal Investigators.
