Worcester County Woman Wins $100,000 in Holiday Scratch-Off

by Breaking Local News Report

SALISBURY, MD – A woman from the Salisbury area in Worcester County is celebrating an extraordinary holiday season after winning $100,000 from a Lottery scratch-off. The annual tradition of receiving scratch-offs as holiday gifts from a family member turned exceptionally lucrative this year when she received an Ultimate Cash scratch-off ticket as a gift.

The $10 game was purchased at Thirsty’s, located at 9534 Ocean Highway in Delmar. The festive season turned more joyful when, during a family gathering on Christmas day, she scratched off a winning number 43 in the fourth row of the game, revealing the $100,000 top prize.

Initially skeptical, the woman thought the ticket might be a joke, as her family is known for their playful pranks. However, the reality of her significant win soon sank in.

The elated mother plans to splurge a little but intends to save most of the prize money for her children’s future. As a teacher’s assistant with aspirations of becoming a teacher, she spends her free time reading and engaging in youth sports activities.

Thirsty’s, the Wicomico County retailer that sold the winning ticket, is also celebrating. The store will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize scratch-off.
