Deputy Sheriff Fatally Shot During Traffic Stop in Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, PA – Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Malone lost his life in a line of duty shooting.

The incident occurred in front of 12298 US Highway 98 around 5:15 pm.

As Deputy Malone approached the vehicle during a routine traffic stop, he was fatally shot. The assailant then fled the scene, initiating a multi-county pursuit by law enforcement.

The suspect was later intercepted and fatally shot near Beaumont, Mississippi. Deputy Malone, remembered for his dedication to service, is survived by his wife and three daughters.

The law enforcement community mourns this loss and extends its deepest condolences to the Malone family.
