GOSHEN, NY – Jesus Torres, a 33-year-old resident of Goshen, was sentenced on Friday, to twenty years in prison followed by twenty years of post-release supervision.

This sentence was handed down in Orange County Court after Torres pled guilty to Rape in the First Degree.

Additionally, Torres will be registered as a sex offender under the New York Sex Offender Registration Act (SORA).

Torres admitted in court to engaging in sexual intercourse with a person under thirteen years of age, being over eighteen himself.

The investigation, led by the New York State Police and supported by the Orange County Child Abuse Investigation Unit, uncovered evidence of Torres attempting to contact his victim post-plea, leading to the enhanced sentence.
