Suspect Arrested Following Attempted Robbery at Hanover Exxon Gas Station

Hanover, MD – A 43-year-old Laurel resident, Michael Angelo Bowie, was arrested after an attempted robbery at the Exxon gas station on 7043 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover on February 16. The incident occurred around 5:45 PM when Bowie entered the station, suggested he was armed, and demanded money from the clerk.

The clerk stood firm and refused to hand over any money, prompting Bowie to flee the scene. He was later seen boarding a bus headed towards Columbia. Howard County Police intervened, stopping the bus and detaining Bowie, who was then positively identified as the suspect in the attempted robbery. No weapons were found on him at the time of arrest.

Bowie is now facing charges related to the attempted robbery. This swift action by law enforcement underscores their commitment to maintaining public safety and ensuring that suspects are held accountable for their actions.
