Solar Panel Fire Contained in Pleasant Plains

TOMS RIVER, NJ—Local fire departments quickly contained a fire involving solar panels on a residential property in Pleasant Plains. The incident, which took place on Mapletree Road, saw the Pleasant Plains Fire Department, Silverton Volunteer Fire Company, East Dover Fire Company, and Toms River Fire Company No. 2 responding to a 911 call about solar panels ablaze.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered flames on the roof of a two-story house, affecting approximately four solar panels. A 1-3/4” hose line was deployed to douse the fire, confining the damage to the solar panels. The operation lasted around 30 minutes, resulting in no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
