Schenectady Man Sentenced for Child Exploitation

by Breaking Local News Report

ALBANY, NY – Thomas Ullman, 47, from Schenectady, received a 25-year prison sentence in Albany federal court for sexually exploiting a child. The sentence was handed down on Thursday, March 28, after Ullman pleaded guilty to the charges.

Ullman masqueraded as a teenage boy on a dating website, engaging multiple underage girls in text and video chats from March 2020 to June 2021. He coerced girls, some as young as 13, into performing sexually explicit acts.

Following his prison term, Ullman is mandated to undergo 15 years of post-release supervision and pay $5,000 in restitution to one of the victims. He is also required to register as a sex offender. This case is part of the Department of Justice’s “Project Safe Childhood,” aimed at combating child exploitation online.
