D.C. Gunman Indicted for Broad Daylight Shooting Incident

WASHINGTONA Washington D.C. man faces charges following a daylight shooting that injured another individual.

Traquon McCalip, 21, known as “TwinGlock,” was arraigned in U.S. District Court on charges related to a March 20, 2024, shooting on Minnesota Avenue, NE. The indictment, announced by U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and officials from the FBI and Metropolitan Police Department, includes aggravated assault while armed, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, assault with a dangerous weapon, and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Following the incident, Metropolitan Police Department officers pursued McCalip, who fled the scene in a vehicle. The pursuit involved units from the Fifth and Sixth districts and the MPD Air Support Unit, resulting in McCalip’s apprehension at 1805 Bladensburg Road, NE. Officers recovered a 9mm Canik magazine and additional ammunition from McCalip’s car, and a 9mm Canik handgun from the shooting scene.
