WASHINGTON, DC — A teen has been taken into custody in connection with a shooting in Southeast D.C., as announced by detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s First District.
The incident, which unfolded on Friday evening, saw the suspect confronting and subsequently shooting the victim in the 500 block of 13th Street, Southeast, around 8:56 p.m. The victim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Following the shooting yesterday, a 16-year-old juvenile male from Southeast, DC, surrendered to authorities at the First District Police Station. He was arrested under a DC Superior Court custody order and faces charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). Investigations into the incident have revealed that the victim and the suspect were acquainted.
