Police Seek Man Who Made Inappropriate Comment at Hackettstown School

Hackettstown police are on the lookout for an unidentified man who reportedly made a sexual comment to a woman at Hackettstown High School last Saturday.

The incident occurred at 12:35 p.m. when the man approached the woman in her car at the junior parking lot. Startled, the woman raised an alarm, causing the man to flee the scene.

Authorities stated that the man was later seen walking past the tennis courts on Warren Street and then through a trail leading to the intersection of Center Street and Jefferson Street. A witness observed the man running on Jefferson Street before turning left onto West Plane Street. Described as Hispanic and in his mid-20s to early 30s, the man wore dark blue jeans, a dark blue sweatshirt with light blue sleeves, and sneakers with light brown soles.

Police did not say what the comment was.

Police are urging residents in the area to review their surveillance videos for potential footage of the suspect.
