HAGERSTOWN, MD – Firefighters from the Hagerstown Fire Department rushed to a two-story home on Chestnut Street after receiving reports of a house fire late Monday night. Upon arrival at around 11:20 p.m., responders encountered flames from several windows on the second floor. One resident had already made it safely outside, while another required assistance from quick-thinking neighbors to exit the burning building.
Paramedics transported Both individuals to Meritus Medical Center for necessary medical attention following the incident. Officials revealed that crews were faced with a significant fire on the second floor, which fortunately did not spread extensively to the attic but affected the soffit area on the front and side of the house.
The Hagerstown City Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the origin of the fire, prompting the fire department to remain in the area on Tuesday for further examination and assessment.
