Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez today announced that a Brooklyn man has been arraigned on an indictment, charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping for the death of a three-year-old boy.
The child was allegedly lured into a vacant apartment and killed by the defendant.
District Attorney Gonzalez expressed determination for justice for the victim, Denim Brown, whose life ended violently in the defendant’s hands.
The defendant, Kevin James, 29, faces multiple charges and was held without bail pending further court proceedings on June 20.
“Denim Brown was an innocent child whose life ended in unthinkable violence, allegedly at the hands of this defendant,” Gonzalez said Monday while announcing the indictment. “We are determined to see that this defendant is held responsible for this crime. Our hearts are with the boy’s mother and loved ones as they grieve this horrific loss.”
Police say James was a neighbor and lured the child into his apartment before beating and drowning him.
