WASHINGTON, DC – Detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force have identified the suspect behind multiple convenience store robberies across Northwest and Northeast. Raham Barnes, 42, from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is implicated in these crimes following a thorough investigation.
An arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday for Barnes, who is currently detained in Prince George’s County, Maryland, for unrelated offenses. He faces extradition to Washington, D.C., to respond to several armed robbery charges.
In the first incident on Monday, April 15, around 6:30 AM, Barnes allegedly stormed into a convenience store on Hawaii Avenue, Northeast. He threatened the clerk with a fire extinguisher, stole the cash register and other items. A similar pattern followed in three other robberies throughout April, involving the use of a fire extinguisher to incapacitate store employees before fleeing with cash registers and money.
