Washington, D.C., – Clayton “Clay” Norris of Ohio has been arrested and charged after his involvement in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. Norris was seen in video footage using a megaphone to taunt police and breach barriers with other rioters.
The Justice Department alleges that Norris arrived at the Capitol grounds around 12:45 p.m. on Jan. 6 and continued to push past metal bike rack barriers while chanting and yelling at police.

Prosecutors claim that Norris urged the crowd to storm the Capitol and made references to objections to electoral certificates, breaching multiple barricades and disregarding calls for discretion as he yelled at police and encouraged the crowd to “make a stand.” Norris is also accused of being among the first rioters to ascend stairs on the Capitol’s east side and facing charges related to entering a restricted building and engaging in physical violence.
