New York Man Sends Two To Hospital in Baseball Bat Attack

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A brutal early morning attack in New Rochelle has left two men hospitalized with severe injuries, leading to the arrest of 28-year-old Jose Ochoa. The incident occurred around 3:45 AM on Sunday, May 12, at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Fourth Street.

According to New Rochelle Police, the victims, a 36-year-old man and his 66-year-old uncle, suffered serious head injuries from being struck with a baseball bat.

The older victim was unresponsive at the scene but was still breathing; both were rushed to a nearby hospital where the 66-year-old underwent surgery.

Ochoa, also from New Rochelle, has been charged with first- and second-degree assault, both felonies, alongside two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, a Class D felony, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
