Store Security Guard Arrested for Threatening Man With Gun in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC – A store security guard has been arrested after allegedly threatening a man with a gun during a verbal dispute. The incident occurred inside a business on Sunday afternoon on the 1600 block of Maryland Avenue in Northeast, D.C.

During the altercation, which began around 4:53 p.m., the security guard, identified as 33-year-old Trayonta McCrea from Bel Alton, MD, reportedly escalated the situation by pointing an unregistered firearm at the victim. Responding officers arrested McCrea at the scene and recovered the weapon.

McCrea faces charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm.
