19-Year-Old Killed in Southeast D.C. Shooting

Washington, D.C. – Detectives are currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place in Southeast D.C. over the weekend.

On Saturday night, at approximately 9:39 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1400 block of Howard Road, Southeast. Although they found evidence indicating a shooting had occurred, no victims were present at the scene. Shortly after, officers from the Prince George’s County Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash in the 2400 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast.

At the crash site, they discovered an adult male who was unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have since confirmed that the victim was shot on Howard Road.

The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Demetrius Creek, a resident of Southeast D.C.
