by Breaking Local News Report

ALLENTOWN, PA — District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced the release of body camera footage related to a use of force incident by Allentown Police Officers. The incident, which took place on June 22, 2024, in the 200 block of N. 16th Street, involved the arrest of Michael Iucolino around 9:30 p.m.

The arrest drew public scrutiny after a cellphone video, showing only a segment of the event, circulated online. In response, the Allentown Police Department decided to release body camera footage to provide a clearer and more complete account of the arrest.

The incident initially responded to a domestic violence call, where officers heard a woman inside an apartment shouting for help. According to Pennsylvania law, officers are mandated to intervene in domestic disputes to protect individuals believed to be in immediate danger.
