Stolen Vehicle Involved in High-Speed Chase and Collision on Seminole Trail

Albemarle County, VA – On Friday, July 5, at approximately 7:38 AM, an officer with the Albemarle County Police Department observed a vehicle driving erratically along southbound Seminole Trail (U.S. 29). The vehicle was identified as stolen from Fairfax County during an armed carjacking earlier that day.

When the officer initiated a traffic stop, the vehicle fled at high speed down Seminole Trail. At the intersection of Greenbrier Drive, the stolen vehicle collided with two other vehicles.

The driver and passenger in the stolen vehicle, both juveniles, were transported to UVA Medical Center. One juvenile sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the other is in serious condition. A firearm was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.

The drivers of the other vehicles were evaluated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
