Arrest Made in Deadly Dumfries Hit & Run Case

DUMFRIES, VA—Investigators have made an arrest in connection with a fatal hit and run incident that occurred on July 20 at the Oasis at Montclair Apartment complex in Dumfries. Keith Anthony McBride, 41, from Manassas, was apprehended by Virginia Beach City police on July 26 following the issuance of arrest warrants.

The tragic event unfolded in the parking lot located in the 16400 block of Stedham Circle, where the accused allegedly attempted to steal a vehicle from Jose Vasquez Galvan, 37, of Dumfries. During the theft, Galvan was fatally injured.

McBride faces charges of felony murder, felony hit and run, and grand larceny auto. He is currently held in custody, with a court date pending. Authorities have confirmed that no further suspects are being sought in this case.

Galvan, who had been hospitalized since the incident, succumbed to his injuries on July 22. The stolen vehicle, a 1999 gold Lexus RX 300, was later found on Ashdale Circle in Woodbridge during an unrelated police call on July 23.
