ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Wednesday morning on Route 50 in Anne Arundel County, which claimed the life of a Crownsville resident.

The victim has been identified as Andrew David Frye, 34, who was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. Frye was operating a 2000 Yamaha motorcycle at the time of the collision.

The crash took place at approximately 4:20 a.m. on eastbound Route 50 near Rowe Boulevard. Preliminary investigations suggest that a 2019 Ford Fiesta, driven by Horatio Fitzgerald Easton, 59, of Annapolis, struck Frye’s motorcycle while changing lanes. Easton, the sole occupant of the Ford, was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center with injuries.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the ongoing investigation.
