Utica Police Investigating Shots Fired Incident on Bleecker Street

UTICA, N.Y. — The Utica Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident that occurred Sunday afternoon on Bleecker Street. At approximately 12:53 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Bleecker Street following reports of gunfire.

According to initial reports, two males were riding their bicycles westbound on Bleecker Street when they suddenly dropped their bikes in front of a convenience store. One of the individuals, described as wearing a red and black long sleeve shirt and blue jeans, produced a handgun and fired six to eight shots at a blue four-door sedan traveling northbound on Nichols Street. The second individual was described as wearing a blue sweater and blue jeans.

Both suspects fled the scene on their bicycles, continuing westbound on Bleecker Street.

At this time, the Utica Police Department has not reported any injuries to the vehicle’s occupants or bystanders. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.
