PATERSON, N.J. — The Paterson Police Department has named Detective Brian Culmone as its Officer of the Month for August, recognizing his efforts in recovering a stolen vehicle and assisting in the apprehension of multiple suspects wanted for serious crimes.

In August, Det. Culmone located the stolen vehicle within the city limits, according to the department. During the recovery, officers found a semi-automatic handgun and an AR-style rifle inside the vehicle.

In addition to the vehicle recovery, Det. Culmone played a role in the arrest of several individuals sought in connection with serious offenses in Paterson.

The police department acknowledged Culmone’s contributions via social media, citing his “outstanding police work” throughout the month.

The recognition comes as Paterson continues to address public safety challenges.
