ROCKAWAY, N.J. – A Rockaway man has been arrested on multiple charges related to a drug and firearm distribution scheme, officials said on Wednesday. Santiago J. Escobar, 32, of Rockaway Borough, was taken into custody after an investigation revealed his involvement in distributing cocaine and a handgun in the area.

According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation spanned from April 24, 2024, to August 21, 2024. During that period, Escobar allegedly distributed more than five ounces of cocaine, a Taurus handgun, and hollow nose bullets. On September 3, law enforcement seized 100 grams of cocaine, several pounds of marijuana, over $1,000 in suspected drug proceeds, and distribution materials, including scales and baggies.
