29-Year-Old Shot, Killed in the Bronx

NEW YORK — A 29-year-old man was fatally shot in the Bronx on Sunday afternoon, police said. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting near East 182nd Street and Mapes Avenue around 1:50 p.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the man with a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene, according to authorities.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of his family, police said. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The incident occurred within the confines of the NYPD’s 48th Precinct.
