Two Arrests in New Castle Motel Robbery Case

New Castle, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested Matthew Daniels, 37, from Philadelphia, and Eric Flowers, 32, from Brookhaven, for their involvement in the July robbery at the Red Roof Inn and Suites in New Castle.

On July 2, at 3:18 a.m., troopers responded to an armed robbery at the motel located on 1612 North Dupont Highway. Investigations disclosed that Dametris Graham and Alexis Smith were initially involved, having threatened a desk clerk with a knife. Following the intimidation, the suspects escaped without causing injuries.

Further investigation identified Matthew Daniels and Eric Flowers as accomplices. The police issued arrest warrants for the suspects, and Graham was apprehended on August 19. On September 27, Flowers was arrested at his Brookhaven residence, charged with robbery and conspiracy.

Matthew Daniels was extradited from Philadelphia and faced similar charges on October 14. Both individuals were processed and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, facing significant cash bonds. Alexis Smith, the remaining suspect, is still at large, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact Detective D. Armstrong or Delaware Crime Stoppers.
