Teens Arrested in Connection with Claymont Robbery

Claymont, DE -Delaware State Police have arrested a 15-year-old girl related to a robbery at a Food Lion parking lot in Claymont earlier this month.

On the evening of October 3, at approximately 7:52 p.m., troopers responded to the robbery at 3609 Philadelphia Pike. A 78-year-old woman was targeted as she returned to her vehicle. One suspect seized her purse, causing a struggle that resulted in the purse’s contents spilling onto the ground, including her car key fob, which was taken by the suspects.

Detectives identified a 12-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old girl as suspects and secured arrest warrants. The two male suspects were previously apprehended last week.

On October 29, the 15-year-old girl was taken into custody without incident. She was charged with robbery and conspiracy and subsequently committed to VisionQuest Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
