PHILADELPHIA, PA — District Attorney Larry Krasner announced the conviction of Rayfiq Tiggle, Tariq Chambers, and Isaiah Jones for two counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and related firearm charges. The Philadelphia jury found them guilty for the murder of two teenagers in West Philadelphia in 2021.
On June 11, 2021, Tiggle, Chambers, and Jones drove to 55th and Arch Streets in a white Nissan Altima. Nasir Brooks, 17, and Steven Griffin, 18, were ambushed and fatally shot 16 times by Tiggle and Jones as they passed the vehicle. The attackers fled afterward.
A tip led the police to the getaway car within 20 minutes on Olive Street. Surveillance video and cell data confirmed the presence of Tiggle, Chambers, and Jones at the crime scene. Arrests were made in December 2022.
Judge Giovanni Campbell sentenced each to life without parole, plus an additional 20 to 40 years for conspiracy on November 15. District Attorney Krasner thanked the police and prosecuting attorney, Sean Perez, for their efforts in handling the case.
