BAYONNE, N.J. — Police responded to a violent altercation on East 42nd Street late Saturday night, where a man was found bleeding from the neck and back after an alleged stabbing.

Officers arrived at the scene around 9:51 p.m. and encountered the victim, who was immediately transported to the Jersey City Medical Center trauma unit. Authorities confirmed his injuries were not life-threatening.

An investigation quickly identified the suspect as Darlin A. Sanchez-Vasquez, a 20-year-old resident of East 42nd Street. Police arrested Sanchez Vasquez and charged her with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. Officials did not disclose his immigration status or release further details about the motive behind the incident.

Last October, Sanchez-Vasquez was arrested during a reported brawl about to take place on East 42nd Street. He provided a false identity to police, which led to a charge of hindering apprehension. Sanchez Vasquez then attempted to resist arrest but was eventually subdued and taken into custody without further incident.
