Stamford police investigate collision involving CT Transit bus and pedestrian

Stamford police urge witnesses to come forward as they work to determine the circumstances of the serious crash.

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating a serious crash involving a CT Transit bus and a pedestrian that left a 54-year-old man in critical condition, authorities said Friday.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:55 p.m. Thursday on Glenbrook Road, just before the intersection with East Main Street (Route 1). The pedestrian, identified as David Sheridan of Stamford, suffered serious injuries and was transported by Stamford EMS to Stamford Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.

The bus driver, Hugo Cervantes, 50, also a Stamford resident, remained on the scene and contacted emergency services immediately following the collision. He was interviewed by investigators.
