Barnegat Police Rescue Boaters and Dog from Sinking Vessel

Barnegat, NJ – Barnegat Police Department responded to a distress call on Thursday from a boater reporting their vessel was sinking near Sun Harbor Marina. Patrol units arrived but were unable to locate the stranded individuals from the land.

Off-duty Lt. Ryan used his personal boat to assist in the search. Officers found two individuals and their dog in the water after their vessel had submerged.

The team successfully secured the people and dog on Ryan’s vessel. They transported them safely to Barnegat Public Docks.

All involved were confirmed to be safe and recovering. The department expressed relief and gratitude for Lt. Ryan and his team’s swift action.
