CARTERET, N.J. — A Carteret man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal crash that occurred earlier this month on the West Carteret Bridge, authorities announced Friday.
The crash took place on January 11 at approximately 9:55 p.m. when police responded to a 911 call reporting a collision on Roosevelt Avenue. Officers arrived to find an Infiniti and a Toyota Camry involved in the incident.
The driver of the Infiniti, 34-year-old Cristina Flores of Avenel, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Camry, 23-year-old Jair Montero-Moran of Carteret, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he has remained since.
