Multiple road closures in Calvert County as snow emergency continues

Authorities continue to monitor conditions as crews work to clear roads and respond to weather-related incidents.

CALVERT COUNTY, MD — Authorities have shut down multiple roads in Calvert County as hazardous conditions and stranded vehicles continue to impact travel.

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office reported that Route 4 southbound at Bright Lane in Owings is closed due to multiple vehicles being stuck. “Please stay off the roadways unless travel is absolutely necessary,” officials warned in a social media update.

Additionally, Route 231 near Hallowing Point Park in Prince Frederick has been shut down following several accidents caused by poor road conditions. Officials reminded motorists that a snow emergency remains in effect and urged drivers to avoid travel.
