Jackson GOP Leader Says Ciattarelli Gets His Vote For Consistent Support of Jackson Community

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — The Ocean County Republican Organization is set to meet tonight to endorse candidates for the June 10 primary, and Jackson Republican Club President Mordy Burnstein has announced he will vote for Jack Ciattarelli in the race for governor for his convention vote.

Burnstein, who holds a weighted vote in the endorsement process, cited Ciattarelli’s engagement with Jackson residents and commitment to addressing local issues as key factors in his decision.

“Jack has been a longtime friend of Jackson. He’s been to our Club meetings, to Jackson Day, supported our local candidates, knocked doors with us, and understands the problems we all face,” Burnstein stated.

Burnstein said in an email to members, that he will cast his vote based on that alone and said the vote is not an official endorsement of Ciattarelli, but added the former legislature has been there for Jackson each time he was called.

“The Jackson GOP will fully endorse the winner of the June primary election,” Burnstein said. “We will work to ensure that we elect the candidate for governor selected by Republicans across the state to defeat the Democrats in November.”

Ciattarelli, a former state assemblyman and the Republican nominee for governor in 2021, is campaigning on a platform that includes fixing New Jersey’s school funding formula and reducing property taxes. Burnstein emphasized these issues as particularly important to Jackson residents.

While endorsing Ciattarelli, Burnstein reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Republican nominee in the general election, stating, “As a proud Republican, I will work tirelessly to support our Republican nominee – whoever that may be – as we fight to flip this state red.”

The Ocean County GOP endorsement is a key step in securing party support in one of the state’s most Republican-leaning counties.
